Uniform application of test standards for lifejacket lights: UK21/L002

Question
Is it possible for uniform application of the test standard to be achieved with the current specified standard?
Recommendation
Yes.
Not all test houses are applying the tests required to achieve the current standard in the same manner. This situation will be clarified in some respects by uniform reporting and application of testing as required by MSC/Circ.980 section 2.2.3.
It is therefore recommended that the ‘testing standards’ listed in Annex 1 of MSN 1874 as amended be reported in accordance with MSC/Circ.980 for lifejacket lights.
