New standard format for Module B type examination certificates: UK21/G001
Adopted EU recommendation GEN-001. UK approved recommendation on the format of Module B certificates.
Question
Each Approved Body uses its own format for Module B certificates. Should a standard certificate format be used or should each certificate contain specified minimum information?
Recommendation
The information provided on the certificate is of prime importance to the recipient and should provide all necessary information relating to the approval.
The type examination certificate should list all applied international instruments.
Where an International Resolution or other Instrument specifies additional criteria to be included on a certificate, this must be complied with in addition to the above criteria (for example, FTP Code. Where Resolutions are amended, these should also be taken into consideration).
Note: Where the stated UK Approved Body Logo is used, the following text should be located below: “Approved Body authorised by the MCA”.
