01 Waste codes
01 waste codes result from exploration, mining, quarrying and physical chemical treatment of minerals.
Your permit lists the 01 waste codes you can use. You must follow the guidance given in the Before you start section.
01 01 wastes are from mineral excavation.
01 04 wastes are from physical and chemical processing of non-metalliferous minerals.
You can use these table 2.2A wastes if you hold SR2010 No 4:
- 01 01 02 Chalk only
- 01 04 08 Chalk only
Benefits and risks
You can use these wastes for their liming benefits.
Consider the risk of chemical contamination of the original chalk as quarried or through other causes. For example, poor handling and cross contamination with other materials used in the mineral excavation process.
You must also follow the information for 17 05 04 Topsoil peat, subsoil and stones only other than those mentioned in 17 05 03
