This statistical release gives details of the number of persons injured by fireworks in Northern Ireland during the Halloween period. The survey covers a four/five-week period and covers those injuries treated at A&E Departments and Minor Injuries Units

Details

The main purpose of this survey is to assess the effect of the legislative changes since 1996 and the impact of fireworks awareness, safety and enforcement campaigns delivered by the Department of Health, Social Services & Public Safety (DHSSPS) in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and in cooperation with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS).
