Unlocking Space for Investment - Investor Pathway one-pager

Updated 19 December 2023

VC, institutional and family office investors are invited to apply for a fully funded place on an exclusive UK Space Agency programme providing access to Series A, B investment opportunities and the resources and support to apply your expertise to the space sector.

There is a gap in funding available to UK Space sector businesses aiming for rapid growth into commercial markets. Many of these businesses have traversed the early technology development phase and significantly de-risked their products and service offerings, often supported by a combination of pre-seed finance and government grants. These businesses are sufficiently close to market, with more moderate technology risk, to make them attractive for private venture finance. However, there are currently few venture capital firms actively investing in the UK space sector.

The UK Space Agency is Unlocking Space for Investment with a new programme dedicated to supporting private investors seeking to capitalise on the nascent UK space sector and leverage existing government investment. It will create long-term, meaningful partnerships between investors, UK companies and the UK Space Agency. It will encourage investment in the sector by sharing knowledge and empowering investors, particularly those considering their first venture into space investment.

Investor Pathway

The Unlocking Space for Investment Investor Pathway programme will include:

  • knowledge sharing: a 6-week flexible online course tailored for investors moving into the space sector
  • Unlocking Space for Investment pitch day: invitation to an exclusive pitch day hosted by the UK Space Agency, in coordination with the parallel pathway for space businesses
  • community: access to deal-flow backed by UK Space Agency investment, invitation to industry events and opportunities to form investment partnerships with pathway members and the UK Space Agency

Register interest in less than 5 minutes.

Starting November 2023, the 6-week course will involve a minimum study requirement of 90 mins by investors each week, broken down into:
