Details

The CMA has published this report following a review of the in-store price marking practices of 139 grocery stores based in England and Wales.

The review considered whether these grocery retailers were displaying clear and accurate price information in-store, and whether the advertised selling price matched the price charged at the till, as required under consumer law.

The review followed similar work undertaken by the Society of Chief Officers of Trading Standards in Scotland (SCOTSS) and Northern Ireland Trading Standards (TSNI) (across their respective nations).

If you are a grocery retailer, or work with grocery retailers, our poster on how to display prices accurately and clearly may help you understand how to comply with consumer law.
