Report investigating how mobile phone signals are impacted, or attenuated, by rail carriage designs and passenger crowding.

The research states the:

  • principal causes of radio frequency signal attenuation derived from:
    • field testing
    • predictive modelling
  • potential ways to mitigate attenuation including considerations for future rail carriage designs

This research will be used to support considerations in future rail carriage design and procurement.
