Details

The Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework (PHSKF) is a UK-wide resource which describes the functions and activities carried out by people working to protect and promote the public’s health.

These documents include:

  • the full framework
  • a user guide to using the framework
  • recent updates - including supporting tools and resources

The PHSKF is a collaboration between OHID, Public Health Wales, NHS Health Scotland and the Public Health Agency of Northern Ireland. The development process is detailed in Review of the PHSKF.

The PHSKF should be consulted along with All Our Health, the employer standards and Quality in public health: a shared responsibility.

Individuals and organisations can share their experiences of applying the framework with phworkforcestrategy@dhsc.gov.uk.
