The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Thompsons of Prudhoe Limited.
The proposed variation does not involve substantial change.

1.16.14 The operators of the permitted existing Waste Transfer Station at Springwell Quarry, Thompsons of Prudhoe, wish to add a soil washing plant to the site. The installation of the soil washing plant will allow suitable inert materials from demolition and construction to be recycled into secondary aggregates, all of which will be place under WRAP protocol and sold to house builders and developers. This will also result in a scaling down of the permitted transfer and treatment activities undertaken at the WTS.
