Details
The Department for Education (DfE) issued this statutory direction following publication on 13 May 2015 of a report by Ofsted, which judged the overall effectiveness of children’s services in Cumbria to be inadequate. The direction required the council to take a number of steps to improve its children’s social care services.
The direction was lifted on 29 January 2018.
