Before you apply, you must follow the guidance on how to protect a geographical spirit drink name.

Download and save the forms to your desktop to fill in electronically. Remember to save them after you’ve filled them in.

Complete the:

• product specification template
• single document template

Email your spirit drink name application

Email both templates and any supporting evidence to: ukgiapplications@defra.gov.uk.

Add ‘Protected spirit drink names scheme: application’ to the subject field of your email.

Northern Ireland applicants must state if they’re applying to the EU scheme, UK scheme, or both schemes.
