William Lindsay

Biography

William is civil engineer by education and a chartered project professional from the energy sector having completed 30 plus years with Royal Dutch Shell.

He has been involved with many types of capital project both on and offshore, in UK and abroad. William spent a year seconded into the Oil and Gas Regulator and since 2017 was project director of the multi-billion pound Brent Decommissioning Project in the North Sea. Transitioning the organisation through late life operations to down-manning, removal and disposal.

William has been Chair of the Oil and Gas Project Managers Steering group supporting ECITB to enhance competence of the industry’s project professionals and promote improved collaboration with the supply chain. Since spending 4 days on a nuclear submarine as a student in 1988, William has always had an interest in nuclear and welcomes the opportunity to play his part in the magnificent legacy which is Dounreay.
