Alison Beckett

Biography

Alison joined the team in the British Embassy Tallinn in July 2017. She is a career diplomat having joined the Diplomatic Service in 1990.

During her career Alison has served in a variety of overseas posts, most recently as Deputy Head of Mission in Tashkent and Her Majesty’s Consul for Greece, based in Athens. Before taking up her posting in Tallinn, Alison spent the last three years in the Middle East and North Africa Directorate in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. Alison has wide corporate experience including recruitment to the Diplomatic Service, promotions assessing and crisis management.

Before joining the FCO Alison worked as a freelance interpreter and has continued to learn and develop her language interests throughout her career. She enjoys the travelling that comes with a diplomatic career and putting her gardening skills to the test in some of the world’s more challenging climates.
