The Secretary of State has reappointed Nicholas Griffin and Claire-Marie Roberts as Board Members of UK Anti-Doping.

Nicholas Griffin and Claire-Marie Roberts have been reappointed by the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as Board Members of UK Anti-Doping for three years from 1 October 2020 - 30 September 2023.

Nicholas Griffin QC is a barrister with a background in criminal and public law. He works from a chambers in London,heading its inquest, inquiry and public law team. He has worked with the police and other agencies in relation to significant investigations and cases. He regularly appears at public inquiries and inquests covering a wide variety of issues, from allegations of widespread abuse to military and police action. Additionally, Nicholas conducts internal investigations for institutions concerned about irregular activity and advises in relation to compliance matters.

Dr Claire-Marie Roberts is a Chartered Psychologist, a Chartered Scientist, and a BASES Accredited Sport & Exercise Scientist who works for the Premier League. She is a Visiting Research Fellow in Sport Psychology at the University of the West of England in Bristol, and has authored over 30 scientific publications. Additionally, she has extensive experience in supporting high performance athletes from a wide range of sports, preparing for international competitions including Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. Claire-Marie has been a Non-Executive Board Director of UK Anti-Doping for the last three years.

These roles are remunerated at £215 per day. These reappointments have been made in accordance with the Cabinet Office’s Governance Code on Public Appointments, the process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. The Government’s Governance Code requires that any significant political activity undertaken by an appointee in the last five years is declared. This is defined as holding office, public speaking, making a recordable donation or candidature for election. Mr Griffin and Dr Roberts have not declared any activity.
