Evidence-based Policymaking in Myanmar? Considerations of a post-conflict development dilemma

The paper is based on interviews in late 2014 with both Burmese and international respondents

Abstract

This paper engages with current debates on evidence-based policymaking and seeks to examine how evidence is produced and used in the particular context of Myanmar. The paper is based on qualitative interviews conducted by the authors in late 2014 with both Burmese and international respondents from across a range of local and international organisations. The paper is an output of a research collaboration between JSRP and The Asia Foundation and forms part of the 'Theories in Practice' series.
