Africa Gender Innovation Lab Influence

The World Bank’s Africa Gender Innovation Lab (GIL) conducts impact evaluations of development interventions

Abstract

The World Bank’s Africa Gender Innovation Lab (GIL) conducts impact evaluations of development interventions and leads policy research to generate evidence on how to close gender gaps in earnings, productivity, assets, and agency. With these findings, GIL equips project teams and policymakers to design innovative and scalable interventions to address gender inequality. In this document, you will find examples of GIL’s dollar 2.17 billion in influence across three continents.

This work is part of the Closing the Gender Gap in Africa: evaluating new policies and programmes for women’s economic empowerment programme
