Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as it does not have a suitable earthing arrangement. It was considered that in order to “be of sufficient rating” the earthing conductor should allow a current of 25 A to flow for a period of 1 minute. When this test was applied, the printed track melted, emitting smoke and continuity was interrupted, leaving the user vulnerable to electric shock.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and the listing removed by the online marketplace (eBay).
