Fermentation The action of yeast on worts to produce beer
Finings Material added to beer to improve clarity or adjust flavour or aroma
Firkin Cask of 9 gallon capacity
Failed delivery Beer returned to registered premises as not required by customer or previously mis-delivered
Gravity The ratio of the weight of a volume of any liquid to the weight of an equal volume of distilled water
Grist Crushed malt from milling
Gyle number The unique number allocated by the brewer to a given brew
Hectolitre One hundred litres
