Monitoring Committee members: Rwanda

Diko Mukete

Diko is a highly decorated economist and lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in the field. He is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Rwanda Finance Limited and is an independent non-executive Director and Chairperson of the Board of Governance Committee of Standard Chartered Bank, Cameroon.

He serves on the Management Board of the African Legal Support Facility in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Rwanda. He has led several successful economic and financial policy dialogues with governments on deepening economic and financial reforms.

Julien Kavaruganda

Julien is an experienced lawyer in Rwanda and Belgium and brings to the table a wealth of experience spanning 18 years in the field of legal practice and leadership, including immigration, employment law and finance.

He has held various leadership posts in the bar association in Rwanda, East Africa and Great lakes Region. He is Founder and Senior Partner of K-Solutions and Partners, a corporate law firm in Kigali, Rwanda and is also Vice Chairman of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre, and on the Board of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.

John P Sendanyoye

John excels in experience and specialism in international labour activities including global dialogue on the impact of financial crisis on workers and has penned numerous papers and articles in this area.

He is currently a retired senior official of the International Labour Organization (ILO), where he headed the Service Sectors Team and previously served as Regional Programming Officer for Africa and Asia and the Pacific in Cote d’Ivoire and Thailand respectively.

Marie Sylvie Kawera

Marie brings a wealth of expertise and experience in the field of law, communications, and human rights. She previously held senior roles in the National Consultative Forum for Political Parties and is currently Commissioner of Rwanda’s National Commission for Human Rights. Within her current role she leads on all aspects of human rights issues.
