Notice 24: Large Scale Voluntary Applications for First Registration (effective 12 February 2018)

Notice given by the registrar under Schedule 2 to the Land Registration Rules 2003

Interpretation

1.In this notice:

(a) “direction” means the direction made by the registrar from time to time under section 100(4) of the Land Registration Act 2002 relating to Large Scale Voluntary Applications for First Registration,

(b) “large scale voluntary application” has the same meaning as in the direction,

(c) “the Rules” means the Land Registration Rules 2003 (SI 2003/1417) as amended from time to time, and a reference to a rule by number is to the rule so numbered in the Rules.

Currency of notice

2.This Notice is made under rule 132(1) of, and Schedule 2 to the Rules and shall be current for the purposes of Schedule 2 on and after 12 February 2018.

The delivery of large scale first registration applications by electronic means

3.Arrangements have been made for delivering large scale voluntary applications by electronic means.

Who may deliver a large scale first registration application by electronic means

4.Large scale voluntary applications may be made electronically only by a person who has entered into an agreement with the registrar of the kind referred to in the direction.

How applications must be delivered

5.Large scale voluntary applications must be delivered in accordance with the agreement referred to in the direction.

Other conditions and limitations

6.The application must comply with any other terms of the agreement referred to in paragraph 4.

7.Any acknowledgement, certificate, plan or other result of an application made pursuant to this notice will be issued by the registrar electronically. If for any reason the registrar considers that it cannot be conveniently issued in electronic form, he may issue it in paper form.
