This notice sets out how we will process your personal data, and your rights. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

1. Your data

We will process the following personal data:

  • names, job titles and email address of people that register to the Heat Pump Ready: How to apply to Stream 2 – Wave 2 Competition Webinar

2. Purpose

The purpose(s) for which we are processing your personal data is:

  • to share your contact details with other webinar attendees for networking purposes
  • to contact you after the event with innovation programme developments
  • to contact you about taking part in government research related to Heat Pump Ready and heat pumps more generally

The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR is:

1(a)Consent: You consent to the processing of your personal data for one or more specific purposes. Should you change your mind, you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting heatinnovation@beis.gov.uk.

4. Recipients

Your personal data will be received by us. For those that consent to be contacting about taking part in government research related to Heat Pump Ready and heat pumps more generally, your personal data will be shared by us with a research and evaluation supplier contracted to deliver research and evaluation activities on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. It will also be shared with whichever company provides IT infrastructure to this supplier.

As your personal data will be stored on our IT infrastructure it will also be shared with our data processors Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

5. Retention

Your personal data will be kept by us for 2 years

6. International transfers

Your personal data will be processed in the UK.

Your personal data will not be processed in the European Economic Area (EEA), or by an international organisation.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data
  • request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay
  • request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement
  • request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed
  • in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) request that the processing of your personal data is restricted
  • object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes
  • withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time
