BEIS: business appointment rules advice, January to March 2019

Transparency information about outside appointments or employment taken up by former members of the the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

This covers former staff at Senior Civil Service payband 1 (SCS1) and payband 2 (SCS2) levels. It also covers special advisers of equivalent level.

- Mr Farrant should not draw on privileged information available to him from his time in Crown Service; and

- For 2 years years from his last day of service, Mr Farrant should not become personally involved in lobbying the UK government on behalf of his new company or its employers/clients. This does, however, not prohibit him from contacting the department as part of his day to day relationships with BEIS.
