Mary Curnock Cook CBE

Biography

Mary Curnock Cook has been a Non-Executive Director of SLC since April 2018 and holds a number of non-executive roles in the education sector.

From 2010 to 2017, Mary was Chief Executive of UCAS, the universities and colleges admissions service. Earlier in her career she held executive and non-executive positions in the education, hospitality, food and biotech sectors.

Mary is Chair of the Dyson Institute and of Pearson Education Ltd. She is a non-executive director for the London Interdisciplinary School, The Student Room and Education Cubed and is a Trustee of the Higher Education Policy Institute. She also chairs an HE Edtech group on behalf of Emerge Education.

Mary has an MSc from London Business School and she was awarded an OBE in 2000 and CBE in 2020. She is an honorary Fellow of Birkbeck College and Goldsmiths, and has an honorary doctorate from the University of Gloucestershire.
