Jennifer Tyldesley

Biography

Jennifer Tyldesley has been Minister Counsellor at the British Embassy Warsaw since August 2023.

Prior to this role she was the Deputy Director Economic Security at the then Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. In this role she was responsible for the UK’s semiconductor strategy, investment screening in the tech industry and an Expert Led Review of the Future of Compute.

Jen joined the then Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 2010 on the economic track. During her career she has covered climate change, trade and tech issues, including through a posting in China. She also spent two years coordinating the UK’s China policy from the Cabinet Office.

Jen studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics and holds a Masters Degree in Development Economics. She spent two years working as a health economist in Eswatini before joining the FCO.

The Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs is responsible for leading the Embassy’s work in strengthening the economic, science, trade and investment relationship between the UK and Poland.
