Jason Tierney
Biography
Jason Tierney joined the British Embassy Vienna as Deputy Head of Mission in February 2017. In this role he has responsibility for UK-Austria bilateral relations, Consular and Trade and Investment.
Prior to this he was Deputy Head of Department for International Counter Extremism Group, and Deputy Director for Migration in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in London.
Jason has been with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for 18 years with a career focus on security (including counter proliferation and counter terrorism). He has also worked extensively on migration, human rights and communications.
His previous posting include India, Colombia, Jordan and Ethiopia.
