Bruce Macaulay

Biography

Dr Bruce Macaulay, D.Tech, BSc., C.Eng. MIEE Dr Bruce Macaulay, a Chartered Engineer, has 35 years experience within the disciplines of Electrical, Electronic, Software and Communication Systems Engineering. He has held a variety of senior positions in World-Class organisations including: Honeywell, where he was Vice President Worldwide Engineering & Technology for their automotive division based in Los Angeles. BMW, where he was Director of Strategy, Technology & Pre-development at BMW’s Design Centre in Munich. Rover Group, where he was the Director of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Bruce previously held senior positions in the automotive supply industry including AB Automotive Electronics (South wales) where he was the Technical Director.

Today, Bruce runs a Technical Consulting business: Transform Technology Limited, working mainly in the Rail and Consumer Electronics sectors. He is also the owner of a specialist Music Equipment distribution business: The Bass Barn. Bruce held a NED position within the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) an Agency of the Department for Transport until the completion of his 5-year term in May 2014. Bruce was awarded a BSc in Electronic Engineering in 1977 and a Doctor of Technology in 1997, both from DeMontfort University (Leicester,) and has on two occasions led teams who have won the ‘Queens Award for Technological Achievement.’
