Belinda Lewis

Biography

Belinda started her career in banking before joining the Civil Service in 2003. She worked for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA), the UK Border Agency and the Ministry of Justice before transferring to the Diplomatic Service. Belinda’s career has covered a variety of policy areas, from public service broadcasting to border security, and stabilization to improving trade.

Belinda grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne and read History at Girton College, Cambridge. She recently completed a Master’s degree in Global Diplomacy at SOAS, London.

British Ambassador to Kuwait

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the embassy and its consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
