Unauthorised horse medicine seized
Horse product from the USA seized at East Midlands Airport.
A package containing products for horses was identified by a courier company based at a depot in the East Midlands.
The package arrived from the USA containing products destined for an address in Norfolk.
The package was detained and subsequently seized by an inspector from the VMD.
The following product was seized:
- 1 x tub of BleederShield Respiratory Support Formula
This product is intended for use in horses. The product is presented as a veterinary medicine and is not authorised in GB or NI nor imported with any relevant certification.
The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
