This statement provides an update on the AAIB investigation into an accident involving a Boeing 767-332(ER), N197DN, contained engine failure leading to a fuel leak, Prestwick Airport, 10 February 2023

This statement provides an update on the ongoing AAIB investigation into a serious incident involving a Boeing 767 at Prestwick Airport on 10 February 2023.  The aircraft suffered a contained engine failure on takeoff from Edinburgh Airport and experienced airframe vibration and engine indications resulting in the aircraft diverting to Prestwick Airport.  Once on stand, fuel was seen coming from the right wing and the passengers were rapidly disembarked.  The investigation has been focused on understanding the effect of engine vibration which led to the fuel leak.   The investigation is ongoing, and the final report is expected to be published in early 2024.
