Seafish have withdrawn from the Survey of new build vessels of less than 24m Registered Length. As a result, MCA have established our own set of construction standards, based on the previous Seafish Construction Standards, which were themselves developed in close consultation with the MCA, boatbuilders, and fishing industry representatives.
These standards provide a benchmark for the level of construction to which a new vessel should be built in order to gain UK registration as a commercial fishing vessel.
