Enabling industrial electrification: a call for evidence
Call for evidence description
We’re seeking evidence to understand how to enable industry to switch away from fossil fuels to electricity.
We are looking for evidence to:
- establish the role of electrification for industrial fuel switching
- update our evidence base on electrification technologies
- identify the issues that sites are facing to electrify
- start understanding whether there is a case for electrification specific intervention
- test early policy thinking
This will enable us to design an optimal policy framework to overcome barriers and manage interactions with the wider system.
The call for evidence
We have split the call for evidence into 2 parts:
- In Part I, we are interested in hearing from industrial sites, trade associations, academics, technology providers, network companies, non-governmental organisations, electricity suppliers and anyone else with an interest in this area.
- Part II of the call for evidence seeks to collect more granular information from industrial sites through a site survey.
We would prefer to receive your responses through the online call for evidence if possible.
