This report provides guidance on the use of Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) and Appraisal Summary Tables (ASTs) to assist in the appraisal of flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) projects, strategies and policies.

It aims to develop and test MCA techniques suitable for the appraisal of flood and coastal defence projects. It develops a methodology and tests it on a range of case studies to produce guidelines for its application.

This project ran from 2003 to 2004 at a cost of £144,495.
