Details

At Budget 2018 the Chancellor announced the government’s aspiration to end low pay, and to this year confirm the remit of the Low Pay Commission for the years beyond 2020. The government has appointed Professor Arindrajit Dube to undertake a review on the latest international evidence on the impacts of minimum wages. The review will inform wider work underway on the Low Pay Commission’s future remit, which will include broad consultation with a range of stakeholders, and the Low Pay Commission itself.

The review will report to HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Professor Dube will also engage with the Low Pay Commission over the course of his work.

This document sets out the terms of reference for the review.
