Details

On 11 April 2018, the Communities Secretary issued Directions, letters of reasons and an Equality Statement to the London Borough of Hackney regarding its compliance with the Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity.

The Directions require the council’s compliance with the frequency provision of the Code (to publish no more often than quarterly) by 3 September 2018 and to ensure that, within 21 days of the authority’s first post-election annual meeting (local government elections 3 May 2018), the authority takes the necessary decisions in order that it is in a position to comply from 3 September 2018.
