Overview

We attend a range of events to meet customers and give advice and guidance on planting woodland. We also hold face-to-face and online training events and webinars on specific grant schemes and areas of forestry, that we encourage people to sign up to in advance.

We update this page regularly with new events.

Upcoming events

Heathfield Agricultural Show (East Sussex)

Date: 25 May 2024

Come and talk to us at the Heathfield Agricultural Show. We’ll be there to chat about woodland creation and management, the benefits of woodland on your farm and the grants and incentives available.

Northumberland County Show

Royal Bath and West Show

Date: 30 May to 1 June 2024

We’ll be at the Royal Bath and West Show to chat about the grants and incentives available to support woodland creation and management.

ICF Agroforestry Day

Date: 5 June 2024 (Tyne and Wear)

Join the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) North England Regional Group for an introduction to agroforestry. Our Agroforestry Adviser, James Ramskir-Gardiner, will cover agroforestry types and systems, as well as the forestry sector’s role. ICF Agroforestry Day includes lunch and a farm walk.

Royal Cornwall Show

Date: 6 to 8 June 2024

We’ll be at the Royal Cornwall Show to chat about the grants and incentives available to support woodland creation and management.

Cereals 2024 (Hertfordshire)

Date: 11 to 12 June 2024

Visit us along with Royal Payments Agency (RPA) and Defra at Cereals 2024; one of the largest trade shows for arable farmers. We will be on hand to discuss woodland creation, management, tree health and the grants and support available for farmers and landowners.

Woodland Creation and Deer Management

Date: 18 June 2024 (Shropshire)

From agroforestry, landscape recovery, to deer and squirrel management, explore the role trees can play in creating a sustainable business at Woodland Creation and Deer Management in Shropshire. Hear from experts with a series of talks in the morning, followed by an afternoon workshop where you can get one-to-one advice on your land.

Royal Cheshire County Show

Date: 18 to 19 June 2024

Join us and Mersey Forest at the Royal Cheshire County Show. We will be available to discuss woodland creation and the benefits of trees.

Lincolnshire Show

Date: 19 to 20 June 2024

Join us at the Lincolnshire Show at our stand with other Defra organisations. We will be on hand to discuss woodland creation, woodland management, the benefits of woodland on your land and the grants and incentives available.

Groundswell (Hertfordshire)

Date: 26 to 27 June 2024

Join us at Groundswell and discover how tree planting can support and improve biodiversity, soil health, provide protection for crops and livestock as well as improving water quality and mitigating flooding.

Royal Norfolk Show

Date: 26 to 27 June 2024

Join us and Natural England Catchment Sensitive Farming Advisors at the Royal Norfolk Show. From trees to river catchments, nature can be a powerful ally in managing our land and water. Drop by to learn how we can support you and your farm business.

Honley Show (West Yorkshire)

Date: 29 June 2024

We will be at the Honley Show to discuss the grants and incentives available for woodland creation and management.

CLA North: Next Generation Pizza & Pimms (Cumbria)

Date: 4 July 2024

This event is to give you the opportunity to share ideas, challenges and ask questions. CLA North: Next Generation Pizza & Pimms is sponsored by us and we will be on hand to discuss woodland creation and its benefits.

Kent County Show

Date: 5 to 7 July 2024

We will be at the Kent County Show 5 to 7 July. Listen to our talk at 11am each day. Visit our drop in ‘clinic’ to talk to us about woodland creation and management, and the grants and incentives available.

Great Yorkshire Show

Date: 9 to 12 July 2024

Join us in the Forestry Area at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show. Staff will be on hand to discuss wood creation, management, tree health and the grants and support available for farmers and landowners.

Tendring Show (Suffolk)

Date: 13 July 2024

Chat to us about woodland creation, the benefits of woodland on your farm and the grants and incentives available at the Tendring Show.

Burwarton Show (Shropshire)

Date: 1 August 2024

Join us at the Burwarton Show in Shropshire where the team will be available to discuss woodland creation and the benefits of trees. Find us in the Livestock section.

Wiltshire Game & Country Fair

Date: 10 to 11 August 2024

We will have a stand at this year’s Wiltshire Game & Country Fair. We will have experts on hand to answer any questions you might have around woodland creation, woodland management and the grants available. Come and meet us to get one-to-one advice on what the best options are for you and your land.

Bucks County Show

Date: 29 August 2024

Join us and Catchment Sensitive Farming at the Bucks County Show. Come and talk to us about woodland creation and management, and the grants and incentives available.

Association of Professional Foresters (APF 2024) (Warwickshire)

Date: 19 to 21 September 2024

Come and meet us at APF 2024. We’ll be giving advice and support on woodland creation, woodland management, and pests and diseases. See Forest Research demonstrating their work in their innovative mobile laboratory.
