  • Data Protection Statement: Welwyn Hatfield Council need the personal data in this Application to enable them to issue an HMO licence. We may also use it for prevention and detection of fraud. We may share it with other relevant organisations. Data held by Welwyn Hatfield Council in respect of the Licensing of HMOs shall be stored in a Register as required by Section 232 of the Housing Act 2004. The information in this Register shall be available on the Council’s website and upon request to Third Parties. We will keep your personal data safe and secure and will not disclose it to anyone else without your consent, unless we are required by law to do so.
  • It is a criminal offence to knowingly supply information that is false or misleading for the purposes of obtaining a Licence. Evidence of any information given in this application may be required at a later date. If it is subsequently discovered that relevant information that should have been disclosed was omitted or information was incorrectly supplied, then the Licence for this property may be revoked and other action may also be taken. Operating a Licensable HMO without a Licence is an offence liable to a fine not exceeding £20,000 and a Residential Property Tribunal may make a Rent Repayment Order requiring you to repay any rents paid during the period for which the property was unlicensed.
  • I/we declare that the information contained in this application is correct to the best of my/our knowledge. I/we declare that the house in respect of which a license is sought under the Housing Act 2004 is subject licensing under part 2 of the Act. I/we declare that I/we have read the statement above and completed all parts of this application to the best of my/our knowledge and ability, and it is valid and true as of this date.
  • I/we declare that I/we have served a notice of this application on the persons detailed in section 18 of this application, who are the only persons known to me/us that are required to be informed that I/we have made this declaration.
