The British Embassy in Cambodia maintains and develops relations between the UK and Cambodia.

We promote UK interests through a strong, effective relationship with Cambodia. We work in a number of areas including STEM education, human rights and good governance, climate change, and child protection.

We provide support and advice to the growing number of UK companies doing businesses in Cambodia, and provide consular assistance to British nationals, over 135,000 of whom visit Cambodia each year.

We also provide significant financial support to the Extraordinary Chambers of the Courts of Cambodia (Khmer Rouge Tribunal) to bring to justice those responsible for the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge era.

Find out more on our UK and Cambodia news page. We provide services to British nationals living in and visiting Cambodia. You can access UK government services while in Cambodia.

You can apply for an emergency travel document if you’re abroad and your passport has been lost or stolen, damaged or expired, and you can’t get a new or replacement passport in time to travel.

If your passport has been lost or stolen, you will need to get a Police Report (PDF, 34.9 KB, 1 page) before an emergency travel document can be issued. A police report is a local authority requirement.

Apply online for an emergency travel document.

If the person needing the emergency travel document is under 16, a parent or guardian should apply on their behalf.

If you are traveling in more than 3 weeks, check if you can get a new or replacement passport in time to travel.

If you are not a British citizen or have not had a British passport before

If you’re not sure, check if you’re a British citizen.

If you’re not a British citizen but think you may be eligible, contact us to apply for an emergency travel document.

Development work in Cambodia

The International Development White Paper set out how the UK is working with partners to:

  • eliminate extreme poverty
  • address climate change and biodiversity loss
  • increase progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030

The UK does this through long-term partnerships tailored to the needs of each country the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office works with, founded on mutual accountability and transparency. The white paper builds on the UK Government’s International Development Strategy and the Integrated Review Refresh (IR23). These documents reiterate that sustainable development is central to UK foreign policy, and set out how the UK will go further and faster to reduce poverty.

For information on how the International Development White Paper is being implemented in Cambodia, view the UK-Cambodia development partnership summary

For information on the UK’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programme work in Cambodia, view the Development Tracker.
