Who this service is for
Grant funding from the Council Housebuilding Support Fund is designed to support councils with the cost of eligible pre-development and enabling works needed to submit new, ambitious bids into the Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP).
It can cover activities including:
- knowledge development
- pipeline development
- pre-development and enabling work
- partnership working
- additional staffing

You can apply online.
If you have a Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Funding Service account you will be asked to sign in. If you do not, you can register for one.
If you need help applying
You can get help to register, sign in, or submit your application using the MHCLG Help Centre.
You will need to provide an e-mail address to use the help centre for the first time. An email will be sent with a link to set a password for your account.
