Oxford, Cambridge, RSA Examinations (OCR) Failure to comply with the Conditions in respect of incidents occurring before January 2017 Undertaking accepted Closed

On 1 March 2018, Ofqual accepted an undertaking from OCR.

Following an Ofqual investigation into a number of incidents reported by OCR, OCR has admitted failing to comply with 15 of the General Conditions of Recognition and has given an undertaking setting out how it will prevent any recurrence of the incidents.

Ofqual’s investigation concerned incidents affecting the delivery of OCR’s GCSE computing qualification. The breaches OCR has admitted relate to those incidents but also include submitting an annual statement to Ofqual which was not accurate.

As well as accepting an undertaking, Ofqual has given notice that it intends to fine OCR £125,000. OCR’s decision to give an undertaking was one of the factors which reduced the amount of the proposed fine.
