This essay considers the way the rest of the world world is thinking about the future of cities. It looks at:
- the different futures that we predict for cities and nations of varying sizes, levels of development and locations
- some real-world examples of how policymakers at the city, national and global scales are thinking about the future of cities
- the range of future issues that cities face, and the tools that are needed to address those issues
