This document explains why we use forecasting, modelling and data collection for transport appraisal, and why the methods given in the guidance are used.

The previous version of this guidance was published in January 2014.

TAG provides information on the role of transport modelling and appraisal, and how the transport appraisal process supports the development of investment decisions to support a business case.
