The government has published a new remit for the Low Pay Commission (LPC). The government is aligning the National Minimum Wage cycle with the new National Living Wage to be introduced in April 2016. This means that future National Minimum Wage increases will happen in April of each year.

To introduce this change, the new remit asks the LPC to make recommendations for National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates for April 2017.
