  1. The checklist for first registration applications has been amended to refer to the withdrawal of Direction 3 on 1 October 2024 which related to applications made up entirely of certified copy deeds and documents. There are no amendments to form FR1.

  2. We have added a side note to panel 7 to explain that we will only send an acknowledgement of receipt of an application by way of email.

  3. Updated the First registration checklist (HTML and docuement).

  4. A side note to panel 8 has been amended to replace a reference to "electronic address" with "email address" for clarity. A side note to panels 14 and 15 have been amended to remove reference to now withdrawn practice guide 67A.

  5. Panel 6 has been amended as a result of the Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2022.

  6. We have amended the side note to panel 3 to clarify that, where the first option is chosen, the plan must be attached to the form.

  7. We've amended the side notes to panels 14 and 15 to refer to new practice guide 67A.

  8. We are adding some side notes to panels 12 and 17 in our form FR1. The notes are being added to emphasise that panel 12 must be completed regardless of whether the applicant is relying on title documents or only on a statutory declaration or statement of truth and to remind customers that, where the applicant is lodging certified copy deeds only, a conveyancer’s certificate must be completed and submitted with the application as this is sometimes being missed (panels 12 and 17).

  10. We've amended a side note to panel 5 to clarify how you assess the fee payable.

  11. We have added side notes to the first registration application form (in panels 3, 5 and 12) as a result of a review of our rejection criteria on first registration. We’ve also added guidance on 'How to lodge first registrations with copy deeds' and updated the 'First registration copy deeds conveyancer's certificate' to make it easier to complete.

  12. We added a guidance note about our personal information charter, which explains how we process customer data. We also added a note to clarify that only professional customers will have a key number and a note about the identity evidence panels, to specify that a separate box must be used for each party.

  13. We have added a side note to panel 5 to clarify that the order of applications must be made clear and it is the applicant's responsibility to specify which has priority.

  15. We have added a side note to panel 7 as a result of a change in our procedures. From 11 January 2016 we will change how we send warning of cancellation letters and what they contain.
