Guidance on Representation

Details

The guidance sets out information and advice concerning representation in the parole process, focussing mainly on prisoners undergoing a parole review who do not have legal representation.

The guidance addresses both procedural and practical issues. This replaces all previous Parole Board guidance on Representation.

Please also find here a related link to our guidance on getting ready for a parole review without a lawyer.

An information sheet for prisoners has been produced to assist them with understanding what happens if a victim applies to observe their oral hearing. This can be found on the observer guidance page. Observer guidance - private hearings (January 2025 v2.1) - GOV.UK
