Homes England team up with borough council and partners to boost town centre regeneration

People in Hastings are set to benefit from a regeneration boost that will support new homes, leisure and business opportunities in the town centre.

Homes England is pleased to announce that it is supporting Hastings Borough Council to develop a Strategic Regeneration & Investment Framework (SRIF), a long-term regeneration plan for Hastings Town Centre that will sit alongside the council’s Local Plan.

The Agency, in partnership with Hastings Borough Council, has appointed Lambert Smith Hampton and Tibbalds to develop the Framework. It will focus on improving the public realm and bringing forward development opportunities for new homes, as well as commercial and leisure use around Hastings station. It will also include a joined-up plan for wider connectivity across the town centre and the surrounding area.

Joshua Hemmings, Partnership Manager at Homes England, said:

This Plan will play a crucial role in helping Hastings to unlock its full potential. We’re pleased to be able to fund the development of the framework, and support Hastings to achieve its vision.

Cllr Paul Barnett, leader of the council, said:

We are pleased to be working alongside Homes England on this vital project to develop plans and opportunities for one of the key areas of Hastings where regeneration is needed and hope this work will link in with the wider regeneration plans for the town, including the Public Realm and Green Connections project. We welcome the continued support from Homes England.
