We work with the Brazilian government to help reduce poverty in other developing countries.
DFID provides no bilateral aid to Brazil. Our relationship with Brazil focuses on working together to reduce poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in other developing countries. Brazil has excellent domestic experience in reducing poverty, hunger and inequality and is on course to achieve all the MDGs. Many developing countries are keen to learn from Brazil’s success story. We are also working with Brazil to help shape the future development agenda in international organisations such as the G20 and the United Nations.
