Money Laundering Regulations: Registration

Fit and Proper Test: Confirming the identity of the person applying for the fit and proper test

When someone applies for the fit and proper test, we use the information on the application to check their identity.

If we cannot find the person on our databases living at the address provided, the Registration team will ask them to provide documentary evidence of identity within 21 days. (A second reminder letter will be sent for a reply within 7 days). If the person does not reply with evidence, the Registration team will pass the case to the Decision Makers with a view to refusing the application.

If we can confirm their identity from the documentary evidence provided, we will key their details on to the F&P database.

If we cannot confirm their identity from the documentary evidence provided, we cannot process the application.
