Authorising Customs Authorisations and Approvals: Formal acceptance of an application: Standard letter

Once the standard acceptance tests, detailed in section CAA09060 have been completed and the application is deemed suitable for processing, the economic operator must be notified of the formal acceptance of the application.

This acceptance must be issued within 30 days of the initial receipt of the application.  Please see section CAA02020 for details on accepting an application for a Customs Decision.

The standard letter should be issued using the following template:

 

Dear «Sir/ Madam/ Name»

 

I am writing to inform you that the application submitted by your company for «type of application» *on *«date of receipt» has been formally accepted in accordance with article 22(2) of the Union Customs Code (EU Reg. No. 952/13).

The Customs authorities will now consider your eligibility for «type of application» and will issue a decision within «days», in accordance with article 22(3) of the Union Customs Code (EU Reg. No. 952/13).

Any delays in reaching a decision on your application will be notified in writing, in accordance with article 22(3), sub para 2, of the Union Customs Code (EU Reg. No. 952/13).
