Guidance
Exporting to Mexico after Brexit if there’s no deal
Guidance explaining changes for UK exporters to Mexico if we leave the EU with no deal.
Trade agreement
The UK is seeking to agree arrangements with Mexico to ensure trade continues with minimal disruption after the UK leaves the EU.
If agreed, these arrangements could maintain the effects of the EU-Mexico agreement if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
If the UK does not agree arrangements with Mexico and the UK leaves the EU without a deal, existing trade agreements would no longer apply. This would mean the UK would not have preferential trade arrangements for exports to Mexico.
See the status of discussions with Mexico.
Tariffs and quotas
If the UK agrees continuity arrangements with Mexico there could be minimal changes to tariffs and quotas, even if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
If the UK does not agree arrangements with Mexico, the UK would export to Mexico on Most Favoured Nation terms under World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.
Check Mexico’s import tariffs and quotas under WTO rules on the Market Access MAP website.
