Head of DFID DRC
We work in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to address the urgent needs of the poorest people and to support the development of a stable government.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has the potential to become an economic powerhouse and a regional and global force for peace and stability. However, decades of conflict and corruption have left the country chronically unstable, lacking in infrastructure and social services and falling short of its economic potential.
DFID DRC will address the urgent needs of the poorest people and lay the foundations that will let the state respond to the needs of its entire people in the longer term. We will support the development of a more accountable and stable government and open societies and economies.
DFID funds many organisations who are working to end poverty through open competition. Find out more about how our funding schemes work and the application processes
